Get to Know Me
My mission is to give good science a powerful stage. As a tenured professor with 20+ years in academia and a former competitive speaker.
I’m passionate about helping people cut through the noise and communicate effectively. I’ve spent my career mastering what grad school doesn’t teach—how to share ideas that stick.
Whether you're refining a job talk, prepping for TEDx, or delivering your 100th keynote, I’ll help you craft a compelling message, sharpen your delivery, and own the stage using my signature scientific storytelling framework.
Get to Know Me
Do you have an academic job talk coming up (or hope to have one)? I’ve been on both sides of the job market (applicant and decision maker) and know what it takes to give an effective talk that gets results. Join a dynamic group coaching experience where you’ll get personalized feedback from me, plus support and insight from your peers. Together, we’ll create a collaborative incubator where you’ll learn to confidently demonstrate your scientific expertise and show the search committee members why your work matters.
Get on the waiting list
Working together one-on-one, we’ll dive into your message, refine your delivery, and get you fully prepared to make your research accessible without losing scientific rigor. This is all about YOU—your voice, your message, your impact.
Work with Me
If you’re at a university or professional organization, I offer virtual and in-person workshops on scientific storytelling. We’ll use my signature storytelling frameworks to help participants uncover their underlying motivations for their work and how to use storytelling to amplify the effectiveness of their own research. Finally, we’ll cover introductory slide creation and how to effectively use visual aids in scientific storytelling.

You’ve got a brilliant idea to share, but turning it into a clear, powerful message feels like trying to nail jelly to a wall. You know your audience needs to hear it—but presenting? That feels overwhelming, nerve-wracking, and maybe even a little scary.

Have you ever struggled to organize your thoughts and communicate the importance of your work (I’ve been there!)
Are you unsure about how to get over that nervous or unprepared feeling when presenting in front of a conference audience (who needs that extra stress?!)
Have you struggled to craft a compelling story or make your research engaging (no one wants a snooze-fest talk)?
Have you felt frustrated because everyone is reading the text you crammed on your slide rather than paying attention to you (been there!?)
Have you felt yourself losing the attention of your audience almost as soon as you started your talk (the awkward silence is real y’all)?
Are you a great presenter but feel like you don’t have a handle on how to knock your talks out of the park every single time?
Growing up, I loved reading books long after bedtime and asking questions that sparked deep conversations. Now, I’ve turned that curiosity into a career as an economist, population health scientist, and nationally recognized researcher. What I’m just as passionate about? Using what I’ve learned along the way to help people share their research and ideas with the world. From coaching students and colleagues on job and conference talks to helping TEDx speakers prepare for the big stage, I help others communicate with clarity, confidence, and passion.
